A Spoon can only be a Spoon

Hello and Happy New Year. I am beginning the year with a post from a guest blogger. G from Energyblendz is new to Social Networking. Hopefully this will get her rolling. She has some videos on youtube and a new website. After G has her word I will put links to her current work. G is going places so keep an eye out for her work and words of wisdom. Enjoy:

Well it’s that time of year again—when it seems there is an unwritten law encouraging people to make new year’s resolutions.  Are they based on guilt? Or a true desire to make beneficial changes? And if there is a true desire to make beneficial changes then the time of year becomes irrelevant.  It doesn’t matter if it is the beginning of a year, the end of a year or the middle of a year, if there is a true desire to make positive changes, then….just do it!  However, to make any kind of change in a routine, and be able to stick to it, two things are needed: the willingness to take responsibility for the choices being made and a strong sense of self value and appreciation.  The latter represents the only way a person will be able to ‘inconvenience themselves’ and risk something that cannot be controlled or predicted.  It’s easy to predict and control misery—just make poor choices.  But to do something that could bring great joy means that the outcome cannot always be controlled or predicted and that is extremely scary for some people.

What about spoons? A spoon can only ever be a spoon.  It can never be a fork or a napkin and to expect that it is capable of being a fork or a napkin can only lead to disappointment and frustration. There are many people who are the equivalent of spoons.  It is against their very nature to be anything other than who and what they are. To expect that they will make a realistic new year’s resolution and stick to it can only bring disappointment and frustration.  So what is the answer to this dilemma? Be open to truth regardless of whether or not it is something you want.  See people for who they are and not what you want them to be and especially recognize in yourself who you really are and what you really want.  Then just do it!
